Give me the news….
Yes folks, I have a sinus infection. Yesterday I had a feeling this cold had moved into a sinus infection, but I knew this morning when I woke up with severe pressure on the right side of my face that it was a sinus infection. I’ve had so many of them in my past, once I had a sinus infection for two months (and through 4 antibiotic prescriptions), that I now know when I have one. So, now I have some antibiotics.
She was very happy to see my current weight loss and was very happy to hear that I have started exercising. She did tell me to watch it right now while I’m sick, because of my lung problems. We just got my asthma back under control and she doesn’t want me to over do it.
I’ll be so glad when I’m feeling more like myself once again.

Went riding this afternoon, on my new bike that looks almost exactly like this picture, except I don’t have the rear bike rack as it was all bent up when I bought it, so the manager gave me an additional $20 off.
First time since I came down with this cold that I’ve gotten any kind of exercise, if you don’t count blowing your nose or stumbling down the hall. I felt my breathing wasn’t too bad, as long as I didn’t exert myself too much. I rode for about 20 minutes and now I feel like a rung out dishrag. That ride took everything out of me!
Time for me to eat a little something, then I’m going to take a nap. This cold has taken more out of me than I’d like. In the past, I thought nothing of just laying around in bed all day long and the idea of exercise would never cross my mind. But now, since I’ve made exercise part of my daily routine, I find myself getting antsy when I go too many days without doing something! That is the reason I pushed myself to at least do something today, and while I’m tired, I’m glad I did!
Dinner tonight is most likely going to be a chicken salad. My roommate cooked up the chicken last night that I took out of the freezer a couple of days ago. I had him just put mine into the fridge when it was done, as I just couldn’t stomach eating it last night. All I wanted was soup.

Okay, second day of sneezing and coughing. If I had a fever I’d say I had the flu, but I don’t have a fever. Just stuffed up, coughing, sneezing, body aches. I did get some sleep though. The power of Nyquil.
I can’t exercise, because my breathing is off from the cold, and if I exert myself too much I’ll go into an asthma attack. I hate how I feel after having to use my inhaler, so I tend to watch how my breathing is a lot. And this cold has made my breathing more labored. Once my breathing is under control, I’m back to exercising. I can’t believe I’m saying that. I’m actually antsy to exercise! I feel like something is off that I’m not exercising.
As for eating, my big craving right now is Cream of Chicken soup. I’m staying within my points range, but my big fear is being too far under my points range.

Yes, today is one of those days when you feel like pulling the covers over your head. The sickness I felt coming on yesterday is here, in full force today! I spent most of the night tossing and turning because I couldn’t get comfortable. I have a new box of Kleenex, some Hall’s Lemon cough drops, and some Nyquil. I think I’m set, except for one small thing…I have to drive my roommate to court this afternoon, 45 minutes away from home! I’m not a happy camper, because that means no Nyquil for me until we get home.
Yesterday I stayed right in my points range, but I didn’t write it down. I know I should have, but at the very least I kept a running total in my head and didn’t go over.

Well, it’s really raining out there right now. I gather it’s suppose to rain most of today and tomorrow morning. I have a slight sore throat, which I’m just hoping is just a byproduct of my allergies/sinuses. Hopefully.
Well, I’m back from my temporary WW meeting. I had gotten a note from my leader last week (cause I missed) that there was not going to be usual Tuesday meeting this week, so I had to go to one of the Monday ones. Monday’s are busy days out here for WW meetings, as I had my choice of 5 of them. Anyway, this leader wasn’t bad, she is upbeat, which is good, but I just like my leader more. Next week.
Anyway, my scale is pretty darn close to the WW scales, usually only a .4 pound difference. So, since I missed last week, I just tracked my weight according to my home scale. Well, as of today, I have lost a total of 14.4 “official” pounds. LOL As long as I continue with what I’m doing, next week I should be able to celebrate with my own leader my first 15 pounds lost.
Today is my day of rest from exercise. The past two days I went on some bike rides, and I’m feeling it (more in the butt than the legs). I hope everyone has a great OP day!
I think for dinner I’m going to make some breaded baked chicken (using Eggbeaters for the wash), and I have some wheat pasta and sauce. So, I guess it will be kind of like a chicken parmesan. Add some veggies and a mixed salad, it should be an awesome dinner! I’m actually looking forward to it.
Update at 3:30pm:
The sore throat has gotten worse, so it looks like I’m getting sick. In fact, dinner plans have now taken a backseat to just having some soup. I know it’s not the healthiest way, but my appetite has taken a nose dive along with being able to swallow without pain.

I tend to get in a food rut, so don’t be surprised if you see my menus repeat themselves. When I find something that I like the taste of and it helps me in some way to lose weight, I keep eating it, day after day after day.
I really do have to break out of this rut and try new recipes or foods. One new food for me is eating barley as a side dish. I never thought I’d like it as a side dish, but I really do, especially if I make it with a low sodium broth.
I also have to find a healthier version of Mac & Cheese, as that is one of my all time comfort foods. Well that and bologna sandwiches. My mother could feed me those day and after day as a kid and I wouldn’t complain. In fact, those were the few times I ran to the table to eat.
I just got off the phone with my sister, as today is her birthday, and she was telling me about a conversation she had with her youngest daughter (she’s 5). My niece wanted to know when she was born, so my sister said she was born on September 6th, 19–. To which my niece asked “Was the city in color then?” My sister said to her “the city was always in color, it was the TVs and photos that were not always in color”. I laughed so hard I about pee’d my pants! My niece just started kindergarten, and my sister sent me a picture of her on her first day. I’ll get it off my phone and post it here, she looks so adorable!

My food choices have been lousy today. That’s what happens when I wake up late. My schedule gets all thrown off, I skip a meal and even after dinner still feel hungry. I have 12 points available left. I just might get some Dairy Queen. We’ll see.
Edit to say: Nope, not having DQ. I don’t need it that bad.

My MP3 player took a nose dive a few weeks ago, and I’ve been going nuts because there are times I want to walk listening to music instead of watching the TV. So while I was at WalMart today, I took a look at their players. I was thinking about getting the iPod shuffle, but deep down I think they are just overpriced. So I took a look at the Creative ZenStone. I picked up a 2G one for cheaper than the 1G iPod Shuffle! Here’s what it looks like:

I’m charging it right now, and then I’ll start adding some of my music. I also want to try out Audible Books, but I’m worried I won’t care for it since I love reading so much! We’ll see.

I really had a taste for pizza and since I didn’t get a chance to eat lunch (was driving in bad weather, had to keep both hands on the wheel at all times), when I got home I figured I’d treat myself to pizza from my favorite place. So, I looked up the NI for the pizza on their website and planned which one I could afford to eat points wise. So I’m a happy camper! LOL
Tonight’s exercise will be a walk later on.
